جو گھر سے دور ہوتے ہیں
بہت مجبور ہوتے ہیں
کبھی باغوں میں سوتے ہیں
کبھی چھپ چھپ کے روتے ہیں
گھروں کو یاد کرتے ہیں
تو پھر فریاد کرتے ہیں
مگر جو بے سہارا ہوں
گھروں سے بے کنارا ہوں
انہیں گھر کون دیتا ہے
یہ خطرہ کون لیتا ہے
بڑی مشکل سے اک کمرہ
جہاں کوئی نہ رہتا ہو
نگر سے پار ملتا ہے
بہت بے کار ملتا ہے
تو پھر دو تین ہم جیسے
ملا لیتے ہیں سب پیسے
اور آپس میں یہ کہتے ہیں
کہ مل جل کر ہی رہتے ہیں
کوئی کھانا بنائے گا
کوئی جھاڑو لگائے گا
کوئی دھوئے گا سب کپڑے
تو رہ لیں گے بڑے سکھ سے
مگر گرمی بھری راتیں
تپش آلود سوغاتیں
اور اوپر سے عجب کمرہ
گھٹن اور حبس کا پہرہ
تھکن سے چور ہوتے ہیں
سکوں سے دور ہوتے ہیں
بہت جی چاہتا ہے تب
کہ ماں کو بھیج دے یارب
جو اپنی گود میں لے لے
ہمیں ٹھنڈی ہوا دے دے
سلا دے نیند کچھ ایسی
کہ ٹوٹے پھر نہ اک پل بھی
مگر کچھ بھی نہیں ہوتا
تو کر لیتے ہیں سمجھوتہ
کوئی دل میں بلکتا ہے
کوئی پہروں سلگتا ہے
جب اپنا کام کر کے ہم
پلٹے ہیں تو آنکھیں نم
مکاں ویران ملتا ہے
بہت بے جان ملتا ہے
خوشی معدوم رہتی ہے
فضا مغموم رہتی ہے
بہت رنجور کیوں نہ ہوں
بڑے مجبور کیوں نہ ہوں
اوائل میں مہینے کے
سب اپنے خوں پسینے کے
جو پیسے جوڑ لیتے ہیں
گھروں کو بھیج دیتے ہیں
اور اپنے خط میں لکھتے ہیں
ہم اپنا دھیان رکھتے ہیں
بڑی خوش بخت گھڑیاں ہیں
یہاں خوشیاں ہی خوشیاں ہیں
