Sare-e-Aab jo raha tash'na lab to ye Zabt-e-gam ki hy inteha

Mery hal py thy jo Nuq'ta cheen mera hosla bhi to dekhty

Wo jo utr gay thy par khud mugy bech behaar mein chor kr

tha jo un mein itna he hosla mugy dobta bhi to dekhty

Jinhen mug sy hy ye gilla k mein raha be-niaz-khalos-o-rabt

mery rasm-o-rawaj ka kbhi daira bhi to dekhty

Wo meri hansi sy hain khush guman k nishat-e-zeest hai mud'a

Mery ashk-e-gam ka ruka hua kbhi kafila bhi to dekhty

Hoon saza k bad bhi Muhtaram to hain heratoon mein ye log keun

zra zehr-e- haq ka meri trhan kbhi zaiqa bhi to dekhty

wo bht he seh'l smajh rhy thy meri tishnagi se mout ko
