وہ پانی کی لہروں پہ کیا لکھ رہا تھا
خدا جانے حرفِ دعا لکھ رہا تھا
محبت میں نفرت ملی تھی اسے بھی
جو ہر شخص کو بے وفا لکھ رہا تھا
لکھا جس نے ناول وفا کا ادھورا
وہی پیار کی انتہا لکھ رہا تھا
بھلا کرتے کرتے گزاری زندگی
مگر پھر بھی خود کو برا لکھ رہا تھا
زرا اس کی آنکھوں سے آنسو نہ نکلے
جس وقت وہ لفظِِ سزا لکھ رہا تھا
نمازِ محبت میں وہ اپنے
ہوئے تھے جو سجدے قضا لکھ رہا تھا!
