(Attock VU Group) Qatar, Pakistan sign pacts to boost bilateral relations

HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani chair a session of official talks between Qatar and Pakistan in Doha yesterday

Qatar and Pakistan signed several agreements and memoranda of understanding here yesterday following a session of official talks chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and means of strengthening them in several domains and discussed a set of other regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The talks were attended by several ministers and delegation accompanying Pakistan's prime minister.
Later the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and the Pakistani prime minister witnessed the signing of the following memoranda of understanding (MoU) and agreements:

1. An MoU on security co-operation between the interior ministries of the governments of Qatar and Pakistan.
2. An MoU on exporting liquefied gas from Qatar to Pakistan.
3. An agreement in the legal domain between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan.

HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani witness the signing of an agreement beween Qatar and Pakistan in Doha yesterday

4. A co-operation agreement on Awqaf (Islamic endowments) and Islamic affairs between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan.

5. An MoU between the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Qatar and the Ministry of Water and Energy of Pakistan for co-operation on developing electric and water energy.

6. An MoU for co-operation on organising exhibitions between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan.

7. An agreement on mutual administrative assistance for co-ordination of customs law between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan.
Earlier, a red-carpet reception ceremony was accorded to the Pakistani prime minister.
 
Then the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Pakistani prime minister and the accompanying delegation.
Earlier on arrival in Doha on a three-day official visit, the Pakistani Prime Minister was welcomed by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed Saleh al-Sada, Qatar's Ambassador to Pakistan Sayar Abdurhman Jassim Almawda and Pakistan's Ambassador to Qatar Mohamed Sarfraz Ahmed
