English Translation of Al-Quran
[10].Surah Yunus [Jonah]
Ayat 1. Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Book (the Qur'an) Al-Hakim [showing lawful and unlawful things, explaining Allah's (Divine) Laws for mankind, leading them to eternal happiness by ordering them to follow the true Islamic Monotheism, - worshipping none but Allah Alone - that will guide them to Paradise and save them from Hell].
Ayat 2. Is it wonder for mankind that We have sent Our Inspiration to a man from among themselves (i.e. Prophet Muhammad
[SAWW](PBUH) (saying): "Warn mankind (of the coming torment in Hell), and give good news to those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and in His Prophet Muhammad
English Translation of HadithHazrat Ibn Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.''
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2910].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Yunus Ayat 1.Alif-Lam-Ra.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. This Hadith urges us to recite the Qur'an and also mentions the great reward for reciting it.
